What is the AHA InfoGuide?
The AHA InfoGuide is a Palm OS compatible application used to deploy the AHA Practice Guidelines and other documents. The AHA InfoGuide uses HTML coding to read and display information on the handheld device.
Which handheld devices are required?
The InfoGuide is designed for all Palm OS compatible handheld devices. This may include Palm, Handspring, IBM, and Sony products.
Will this application work for Windows CE units?
The AHA InfoGuide application and AHA InfoGuide documents are currently only available for Palm OS compatible units. Please check back frequently for Windows CE updates.
How do I download the application?
To download the application:
- Enter through one of the portal sites, select Portals above.
- At the site enter a valid, email address, then complete the short survey.
- Select the AHA InfoGuide application (.PRC) file and download.
- After saving the file to your computer, open the directory and double click on the InfoGuide.prc file. This will add it to the computer's hot sync menu.
- Place your Palm in the cradle and press the hot sync button.
- After completing the hot sync, remove your Palm from the cradle and touch the HOME icon. The image on the right shows the AHA InfoGuide icon, notice at the top of the screen ALL is selected from the pulldown menu.
- To download documents to the AHA InfoGuide repeat starting at step 3, but select the .PDB document to add to your application.
I have downloaded a practice guideline, e.g. Stable Angina, but I can not find it on my palm?
To view a practice guideline document on the Palm you will need to verify that the AHA InfoGuide application has been installed. To download the application follow these steps.
After installation you may need to open another application on the Palm and return to home so that the AHA icon appears. The image to the left shows the AHA InfoGuide icon on the Palm.
Once you have downloaded the application, then you can download and install any number of practice guidelines. These guidelines will appear inside the InfoGuide.
To view these document simply tap on the AHA InfoGuide icon. The list of available applications will appear on the screen. The image to the right shows the AHA InfoGuide open with Stable Angina installed.
How do I use the AHA InfoGuide?

How do I create BookMarks for a document?
Follow these steps:
- Open the AHA InfoGuide application, then select a document to view.
- When viewing a document, select the menu or command button from the Palm. The menu button is located below the home button below the Palm screen.
- After selecting menu, at the top of the screen a pull down menu appears. Select Marks pull down menu.
- Select Add Bookmark.
- The position at the top of the screen will be added to the book mark list.
- Customized the Bookmark name.
- Bookmarks appear from bookmark menu at the botton of the screen. Select the DOWN ARROW to the right of the Next button.
- New bookmarks appear at the top of the BookMark List.
